1992 Ford Ranger Pick up RangerAs I was backing up and pulling forward in my driveway this afternoon, I noticed I had lost most of the power in first gear, unless idled up. I also noticewd a burning smell in the cab, like brakes. I did not have the brake on. Tied to drive up on ramps this evening to look underneath and could not get enough power to get up on the ramps.
1994 Ford 1994 Ford ExplorerI have a 1994 Ford Explorer which has an intermittent starting problem. Sometimes when I turn the key to the start position nothing happens. All the proper lights go on in the dash but the starter motor does not turn over. When this happens I sometimes hold the key in the start position and then the car starts right up. Other times I have to let the key go back to run and try the start position numerous times before the motor fires up. When it does start there is no hesitation, it fires right up. I suspect the actual ignition switch itself. I have been told there are points inside it and after many years the points get corroded. My question is: can I replace the ignition switch itself without removing the key cylinder? Looking at the manual it appears that if I remover the steering wheel, the upper and lower covers, and nothing else; that I can remove and replace the switch. Am I correct?

1988 Ford RangerAfter I drive about 35 miles or when the truck has ran 30 to 40 minutes it startes running rough. I have had the rotor, distributor cap, plugs, wires, fuel filter changed and this did not help. I have checked the ar filter and it lookd clean. I had the ignition module checked at autozone, it check good. I have replaced the coil, the fuel pressure regulator and the Idle control switch. I still have the problem. What should I check or do next? The engine is a v6 2.9 Thanks for your help Brian

The car keeps cutting off will going down th road and sometimes i would have to wait a couple minutes for it to start, now it isnt starting at all. 1988 Ford BroncoI have a 1988 Fullsize Ford Bronco, 351, V8 4x4. The problem I am having is excessive draw off my charging system. It happens at idle, the voltage gauge goes low and eventually stall my truck. The voltage gauge needle will go low when I turn on my heat at idle for example and the truck will eventually stall. When driving, if I let off the accelerator the volatage guage will also go low and stall sometimes, but as soon as I hit the gas it goes back up, to above the middle mark on the gauge. I also notice the headlights get dim when this happens and brighten when I hit the gas either at idle or while driving. Any suggestions?
