1989 Ford Bronco II Slipping - General
Question: We have a 1989 Bronco II/4WD. It has set up for a couple of years. We changed all of the fluids and filters. The RPMS seems to have to go too high to shift into first gear. Once you drive it a few minutes and it warms up, it shifts into first fine. Is there some type of adjustment needed? Or are we looking at a new transmission.

Technican: Hi;
Sounds like you have a valve sticking in the valve body. I would recommend putting some additive in the transmission. Most auto parts store have different kinds. If this does not work, Might take it to a transmission shop and have them do a pressure check at both when cold and when hot. But as with my experience with your kind of transmission " A4LD ", It's not a very reliable trans. . Here's How To Get Guaranteed Solutions In Minutes
