1998 Ford Econoline Malfunction - Heating & Cooling System

Question: The heater door will not flip from cool to heat. For a month it would not frip from heat to cool, then one day it filp & now it won't change back.

Technican: try takeing the box apart and lubricate all the moving and touching parts and if it is moved by a cable lubricate that, some of them are controled by vaccum, if it is vaccum controled check for vaccum leaks.
Owner: How do you get to the box and what does it look like? Is there a replaceable part if the lubercation does not work?
Technican: the box should be under the passengerside dash and im not sure what is replacible but the whole box might be replacable
