1993 Ford Escort Malfunction - Chassis, Suspension & Steering
Question: This happens about once a week, no pattern. The brakes are applied there is no braking for 2-3 seconds then the brakes grab and stop suddenly.

Technican: your abs system in not responding correctly and more than likely there is a code stored in the computer I would advise you to have you system scanned, pull the codes that is the first thing and it may just be a matter of adjustments to the abs system which can only be calibrated with the proper equiptment.the codes will tell the truth

Owner: According to all the specifications I have been able to check ABS brakes were not an option on this model year. Please advise.

this problem is got to be a air floating in the system and poping its head up periodically
