Technican: Hello, With the key "OFF", follow the throttle cable to the throttle body (or carbureator) and determine how you may move the throttle by hand. Watch the movement of the linkage as you actuate the throttle and look for a screw (on the linkage) that when the throttle closes, comes to rest on a flat surface.
With the A/C "OFF" and the engine running, this screw should adjust idle speed. With A/C "ON", usually an electric solenoid controlled piston on the linkage will extend and raise the idle to compensate for the additional load at idle the A/C requires to operate.
