1994 Ford Escort Won't Start - Ignition System
Question: Last week, my 1994 Ford Escort would not start. It was driven about 15 miles, sat for an hour. The starter works, sounds like it's getting gas, but just won't turn over. We jiggled some wires and it started, took it to the mechanic, but he could not find any problem. It was fine until today. Same situation. Had it towed to the mechanic, and wouldn't you know, it started for him, so they couldn't find any obvious problem. The car is not dependable now. Can you help with this problem??

Technican: the problem with a problem that occurs goes away and reoccurs is that the problem must be recreated in order for it to be diagnosed properly.
My suggestion to you is to go through your car with a fine tooth comb until you find something that brings suspicion.
I do mean tedious wire by wire [visible wires] and cable by cable until you find a connector that was not properly seated into the socket or a wire that is not making a good connection either for corrosion or just not tightened down.
keep in mind a wire could have loosened up due to vibration.
consentrate on the same area where you wiggeled the wires the first time, it is highly likely that the culprit wire is there in that vacinity.
that is what you will be paying a auto electrician 50.00 an hour to troubleshoot the problem for you, a diagnostic test would not give error codes for this type of problem
