Technican: Hello, How long since the fluid and filter were changed? The filter may be restricted and fluid pick-up may be impaired. It may just need to be serviced.
Is the fluid level full? Low fluid level means sloww pick-up, especially when the powertrain is cold.
Aside from these suggestions you may have a seal inside the trasmission that allows fluid to bypass where it shouldn't. When pressure and flow build up (from the higher engine speed) the seal is positioned by flow and pressure and all seems fine until things cool off and the seal "unseats" from a sealing posture. This would mean taking the transmission apart for repair which could require an overhaul.
