1993 Ford Explorer Leaking - General
Question: Stupid question of the day....My front driver side front fender was hitting and the fender was scraping the wheel when making turns. I tried to straighten out the bumper by using some leverage in the front center and ended up putting a hole in something that leaked air. Can I still drive it, how long or far without causing additional damage? What is the cost to repair it?

Technican: Hi,
I feel with you, I have made things worse at times when I was trying to make them better. The first question is... what did you put the hole in.
#1. It could be a vacuum tank which could have made a sucking noise as the air rushed in. Not so difficult to fix although you will likely need parts from the dealer or junk yard. OK to drive on the short term although some accessories may stop working.
#2. You most likely hit an A/C line or condensor. This will cost a bit more, requiring professional repair and freon recharge (if you want the A/C to work) You can drive it without damaging anything not already damaged, even long term.
Best wishes. Owner: I put a hole in the fan-looking thing (radiator?)just behind the front center grill (?) it made a pssst sound like air coming out. There is no fluid leaking at this time and it started right up, will it overheat if I drive it? Technican: You broke the a/c condensor. This will ONLY affect the a/c and make the defroster less efficient. You can drive with no problems unless you want a/c again. Here's How To Get Guaranteed Solutions In Minutes
