1995 Ford Explorer Other - Drive Train & Driveline
Question: O/D light flashing and the car begins to shift hard but when I pull the battery terminal it resets the computer and the O/D light goes out and the car shifts correctly. It appears to me to be a computer problem but is there a seperate computer for the transmission or is there just one that controlls the engine and the transmission. Or could it be a solenoid problem and not the computer.

Technican: Hi,
The flashing O/D light indicates that the transmission computer has found a problem in one of the electronic systems. This could be a solenoid, sensor, wire or the computer. You will need to use a scanner to pinpoint the cause. Here's How To Get Guaranteed Solutions In Minutes
