Technican: You are correct.. I believe the term is .. No room down there... I have had some using a crows foot (like a tubing wrench in design) and a long extension and a sturdy ratchet. Let me know if this helps. Owner: Did think about the crow's foot. Sears & Discount Auto Parts only have them up to 1". Looks like the nut is about 1.25".
Other issue is that the nut & EGR look 'rusted' so it'll take some mighty strong force. Technican: Soak the nut down with PB Blaster (available at walmart for cheap) and let it sit for a while maybe even overnite. Dont get the crows foot that is square but the one that is more like a tubing wrench.. holds much better... and the size is 1 1/8 or 1 1/16. On a final note.. yes it will take a lot of force.. once lose it may still cause you resistance. You may find it easier to jack up the truck and come in thru the pass side fender well.. the inner skirt comes off real easy. Let me know if I can be of more help. Technican: Did the advice you were given help towards removing the tubing for the egr valve?? It has been a while and just following up. Al Here's How To Get Guaranteed Solutions In Minutes
