1998 Ford Explorer Won't Start - Ignition System
Question: My Explorer won't start. I started noticing it a week ago where it took 2 or 3 attempts to start. Now, it turns over once or twice (very slowly), then dies and starts making a 'click-click-click' noise. Also, recently when idling, it feels like it's going to stall. Don't know if it's the battery (still has the original) but lights and wipers seemed to be working ok.

Technican: Hello, You are describing what sounds like the battery is low on voltage.
I first would want to test the alternator to see if it is charging the battery and has max output available.
Then a test of the battery is in order to see if it will still take a charge and hold it.
Time alone speaks to the battery going bad. But, you are not finished if the alternator output is not tested.
Have both tested and replace what the test reveals to be below standard. Technican: Hi, May I have an update on this question please? Here's How To Get Guaranteed Solutions In Minutes
