1993 Ford F-150 Pick-up Upgrade - Engine

Question: I have a 1993 F150 4x4 with a 5.0L. I would like to replace with a new 5.0L motor, but with a more aggresive cam for more power, but I have been told the computer will starve the new motor of fuel and air causing damage to the new motor, is this true and is my only option a stock replacement motor, or can I modify or replace the computer?

Owner: Thanks for the link.Performanceford told me to call Super Chip, who told me to call Super Chip Tuning, who gave me a number for a local company called Speedy Dyno, they are getting me a price on puting in a 5.0L H.O.that will use the existing computer settings. thanks jim
