1993 Ford Mustang Convertible Malfunction - Electrical & Lighting Systems

Question: I have a 1993 Ford Mustang LX Convertible. The turn signals suddenly stopped working. This happened after I accidentally hit the rear view mirror and it fell down. The brake lights and emergency flashers work. WE reconnected the rear view mirror (courtesy lights) and the turn signals still didn't work. We do not know which fuse is for the turn signals, but we checked all fuses and they appear to be ok. Do you have a diagram showing which each fuse is for? We then checked the bulbs and they were ok. Next we replaced the flasher and still no turn signals. Do you have any idea what the problem may be? I heard there may be a relay that operates the turn signals. Could this be the problem and where would I find this? I also read that some cars have 2 flashers one for turn signals and one for the emergency flashers. However we could only see one. Your help would be greatly appreciated as I drive 77 miles one way to work and this is the only vehicle that gets good gas mileage.

Technican: Your problem appears to be the turn signal flasher or turn signal switch – it may need to be replaced. if all the other lights work then the fuse is ok the problem is elsewhere . I would feel under the dash around the steering column for the flasher unit when the 4-way flashers are on, feel for it, and whatever location it is in check for another flasher unit connection and you would have found the culprit I hope this helps
Owner: The problem was with the flasher which is located behind the glove compartment box. I was able to determine this by checking on an auto parts web site.
Technican: good job I am glad you were able to access the problem take it easy
