1991 Ford Mustang GT Sticking - Engine
Question: when ever I push the gas pedal between half way and full throttle and let off, the rpm's stick between 1500rpm and 2500rpm's. It returns to 1000rpms after I turn off car off and restart engine.

Technican: Hi;
It sounds like your tach is sticking. You can try a external tach to narrow it down. A lot of newer timing lights have a tach built in to them. Also an onboard diagnostic ma chine can help out. Also you might want to check that your connection to the coil is good. This will sometimes make it crazy. .
Owner: Is it possible to disconnect the tach wire and test, or if not were is the tach terminal located at and what color is the wire

The tach wire can be disconnected. To test it you would have to have a manual tach that is capable of reading the volts coming out of the coil.
