Owner: No play at differential when drive shaft removed. car has 70, 000 mile, wheel bearings good Technican: Have you rotated the tires, back to front, to see if the vibration moves? This is the best way to rule out (or confirm) a tire/wheel problem.
If you have tried this, where do you feel the vibration- can you hear and feel the vibration or...? Owner: tires and rims are brand new did not notice before burnout, cant hear but feel holding shifter, still vibrates @ 70 w/clutch in and or out of gear in neutral Technican: You may need to have an experienced drivetrain specialist inspect the car. It is easy to make a mistake in diagnosis.
Other than this about all you could do yourself is remove the driveshaft and see if the vibration remains or disappears. This would point you in the direction of the problem.
The problem with todays cars is many are built just strong enough to last a long time but will not tolerate abuse. Makes it hard to enjoy them in the form they are marketed. Here's How To Get Guaranteed Solutions In Minutes
