1995 Ford Mustang GT Stalling - Fuel System

Question: My car would stall in the mornings after driving 7-10 miles on the highway. The engine would shut off and the "check engine" light would come on while driving on the highway at about 65-75MPH. At one point, I was able to restart the engine by down-shifting from 5th gear to 4th. Now, it has gotten progressivley worse. This puts me and others in a dangerous driving condition since the car will slow down when the engine shuts down. The engine may also stall in the mornings if I am at a stop for a period of 10-15 minutes. I may have to wait 2-3 minutes before the engine will restart. I have taken my car to a Ford dealership and they could not find anything wrong after running diagnostics tests.

Technican: Lets start with easy things. How long ago did you have the fuel filter changed? If more than 20000 miles ago then I recommend changing that filter. Next have you tried to run the car without the fuel cap being tight. Sounds like you might be having a fuel vacuum problem. Owner: Thank you for responding. I will try your suggestion. I also would like to provide an update since posting this problem. This past Saturday, I started my car and drove 2-3 miles to my destination. Approximately 15 minutes later, when I tried to start my car, the engine would crank up but would not start. It seemed like it was not getting any gas or it was flooded. I ended up getting a tow to my house. After letting it sit for 4-5 hours, I tried starting it and it started up. I tested it again Sunday, and it started fine. Monday morning, I started it and let it run for approximately 15 minutes or so. After that, the engine stalled again, but I was able to restart it. I got on the highway and approximately 5-6 miles, the engine stalled again, and my "check engine" light came on. I down shifted from 5th to 4th gear and was able to jump-start it.
