1995 Ford Mustang GT Vibration - Drive Train & Driveline

Question: just installed a ford motorsport(FMS) aluminum drive shaft, pre-balanced from FMS. i have 4:10 gears, and a race-prep aode transmission w/ 2800 stall. i never had the vibration problem until i re-installed the transmission and the aluminum driveshaft. when driving normally, there is a pulse-like vibration that occurs in the drivetrain that starts at 2k and stops at 3k rpm. do i need to remove the rearend vibration dampener located on the underside of the rearend?

Technican: Can you leave the car in park and rev the engine to between 2k and 3k and have the vibration? If you get the vibration in park or when driving only when the engine is in the 2k to 3k range the problem will be in something attached to the engine like the harmonic balancer, flywheel, or torque convertor. If the vibration is from something else the vibration will be independent of the engine speed.
Owner: because the driveshaft is brand new and zero balanced, it cant be the ujoints or a balancing issue? could it have anything to do with the phase of the driveshaft bolted to the pinion flange? the vibration was worse with the stock steel one so i switched it out for an aluminum one and it only helped 50%. could it also be the bushing in the tailshaft of my trans? it was gone through but im not sure that was replaced. i will check to see if the vibration is in park, and if it is i can check my converter bolts, balancer etc. i will let you know! thanks!
Technican: Great. Did you find out if the vibration is in park?
Owner: vibration is in park but still not as bad as the vibration when its driving. i have a new ford racing balancer but the motor sees lots of high Rs....could this have damaged the balancer? i have perfect oil pressure so i doubt its a bearing.
Technican: The vibration will seem worse when driving because it will hold the engine in the problem area longer. Some balancers built for high RPM's have balance problems in low RPM areas. One way to see if it is the balancer would be to put the original balancer back on and see if the vibration goes away. High Rs rarely damage a balancer unless they are old or were not built for high Rs.
