2002 Ford Mustang GT Making Noise - General
Question: When driving I get a humming noise coming from the front left side of the car. When I turn left the noise goes away. WHen I return back to center the noise returns. It only goes away when turning to the left. This sound is usually noticeable at or above 30MPH. I can feel a high frequency vibration in the gas pedal, brake pedal and clutch. The loudness of the sound appears to vary with the speed. What could this be? Thanks.

Technican: Sound like a wheelbearing may be on its way out. Set the parking brake and chock the wheels. Lock the steering wheel and raise the left front(make sur to use a safty stand). Place your hands on the tire at the 12o'clock-6o'clock position and pull in and out. If there seems to be excesive movement, chances are the bearing is gone. Do the same thing with your hands at the 3&9 o'clock position. If you get the same results make sure to check the lower ball joint as well as the tie rods. Don't know how many miles you have on the vehicle but rule of thumb is one side is gone, the other is sure to follow.
