1966 Ford Mustang Stalling - Fuel System

Question: The car was stored for 10 years, I have replaced the carburator, fuel pump, fuel tank and gas lines. It acts like it is starving for fuel and then completely dies.

Technican: Hello, You haven't mentioned the fuel filter..surely you've changed that too. Have you tested for fuel flow quantity? Have you changed the engine oil and filter? How cold is your climate? Please advise.
Owner: I change the old manual choke carb. to a electric choke. i completely bought new fuel filter, tank, fuel pump(old manual one), fuel sending unitl inside the tank, fuel lines. then turned it over and over and over and no fuel was getting to the fuel filter. so I was like well maybe i got a bad fuel pump again. so I talked to the parts store here and asked. they suggested to change to a electronic fuel pump...so i did but when i tested the positive wire i spliced in with a test light instead of a constant power it showed it flashing. so i turned it on and left it on for a few and still no fuel to the fuel filter. So really my quetion is should i worrie about the transmision giving out causeing it to die out after a short distance or over 40 mph..or should the positive constant power be a constant like i think or is it suspose to flash?
Technican: When an electric fuel pump is installed in lieu of a manual engine driven fuel pump, a fuel pressure regulator is often necessary. Was this called for in the new pump installation instructions? Did you install one? What setting do you have it on? Have you tested the fuel pressure? Did you run a return fuel line back to the fuel tank to handle excess fuel volume or are you counting on the needle and seat valve in the carb to just hold back flow that is not needed? How does your new fuel tank and lines address the fuel pick up point inside and at the bottom of the fuel tank? Does it have a sock filter/strainer that nearly touches the tank bottom surface? The fuel pump should have constant battery voltage that is "switched hot" when the key is turned ON. This power source should also remain hot when the key is in the START position. I would not be happy with a test light indicating my power source to be any kind of flash or pulse. I don't anticipate the transmission will suffer damage from the engine stopping at 40 mph or whatever. How do you want to proceed?
Technican: What is happening here, please?
Owner: , We got the car running and "the boy" is on his way to GA. Thanks for your help, we really appreciated it.
Technican: Did I earn your business?? Please advise.
