1988 Ford Mustang Won't Start - Fuel System
Question: I have an 1988 Mustang Coupe that was originally a 4-cyl car and converted it to a V8 car. I used the original dash harness and changed the computer harness with a speed density V8 harness (came out of an 88 hatch). Made connections, plumbed everything. Turned the key, fuel pump doesn't prime system. Checked relay, it was fine, but I replaced it anyway, check the pump, it works great. I'm not sure where to go from here? Supposedly the two harnesses are going to work interchangibly, but so far, i've had headaches. Suggestions? Thanks!

Technican: Hi;
Did you also changed the computer? Owner: Yes, I'm sorry I forgot to note that. I did use a V8 EEC-IV computer. It came out of the hatchback with the V8 harness. Glenn. Technican: Hi;
Check pulse at the injectors. You might have to purchase a noid light. Owner: I took a volt-ohm milliameter to one of the injectors wiring harness, the red wire is giving me 11.0v. What would cause my fuel pump not to prime? Technican: Hi;
First thing is that the distributor tells them when to fire. The distributor breaks the ground. They have constant voltage going to them. It would be easier to explain if you call me. 850-902-2231. Thanks les. Owner: I purchased a noid light set and connected it to one of the injectors. The light never flashed or remained solid. The light didn't do anything at all. I am unsure of how to check the linkable fuses, as they are sealed, I don't know how to get to them. I checked inside the distributor cap and the pickup stator is tan colored. Thanks. Glenn.
