1996 Ford Mustang Upgrade - Engine

Question: I swaped engines with a 1998 mustang both engines 3.8l, i put the 1998 in my 1996, wont start, acts like timing a little bit, not sure.I'm getting 40lbs fuel pressure at the check valve, no bleed off. I pulled a plug and i'm getting fire. The engine also cranks alot slower almost like draging. Have any idea why it wont start? the new engine only has 32, 000 miles on it. Is there any dirrerance between the two engines, do i need to swap something over? Thanks Alot, K.Walton

Technican: Have you checked to see if the engine computer is the same or both engines? Computers control timing...Are any diagnostic codes set? Automatic, or manual transmission? Have you tested the amp draw on the starter during cranking? Should be about 175 amps if good. Please advise.
Owner: I dont have the other computer to see if they are the same, the wiring all pulled in the same. If the engines are the same wouldnt the timing be the same? Thanks alot
Technican: Are you saying the wiring all "plugged" in the same? As in all the sensors and the connectors on both engines are the same? I'll see if the same computer runs both engines at the same timing. Are either of these engines flex fuel system engines? What transmission, please? Can you test the starter amp draw during cranking?
Owner: Thank you, I figured out the problem, i had forgot to bolt the engine ground strap back up, so it couldnt get a good ground!
Technican: Anything left to do here?
Technican: Hello, Please advise if there is anything left to do here.
