1998 Ford Mustang Won't Start - Fuel System
Question: I am having troble starting my car. I only seam to have troble when I am in my driveway. It is on a steep incline, so I park backwards. If I don't then I must let it sit on a flat area while I try to start it. It usally only takes 10 mins. Also sometimes when I am sitting at a long red light my engine will start to shake.

Technican: Hello, Does it matter how much fuel is in the tank for this condition to be present?
Please advise. Owner: It has happened when I had a full tank.I usally don't allow it to 3/4 empty. Technican: Does the car act like it is flooded or have tail pipe black smoke when it finally does start?
Has the fuel pressure been checked? Another test that would be interesting is a fuel injector leak down test.
When a Ford does have trouble starting it is helpful to cycle the ignition key to "OFF" for ten seconds before the next attempt to restart. This gives the computer time to reset the sensor data that is monitored for the next start up attempt.
Are diagnostic codes being set? How long since the fuel filter was changed? Is your weather cold enough for ice to form in the fuel lines? Technican: Any progress here? Technican: Please, update the status of your question. I want to help. Here's How To Get Guaranteed Solutions In Minutes
