2000 Ford Mustang Making Noise - Chassis, Suspension & Steering
Question: My son has a 2000 Mustang. There is a ticking noise that seems to be coming from the sterring wheel column. The car also will occasionally jerk and pull suddenly. It seems to happen when turing the wheel (curve or corner) but it will turn fine most of the time. We have had all brakes checked and fixed and alignment done thinking the pulling/jerking was caused by this. We are now wondering if the ticking and pulling are related.

Technican: Hi;
My thought would be to check the flex coupler at the gear box. Make sure it did not come loose or it is torn. The ticking noise might be a dry contact ring. If the vehicle is equipped with cruise control then this would be my first check. You would have to remove the steering wheel. You will see a copper ring that has a divider in the middle. Need to get some die-electric grease and lubricate it. . Here's How To Get Guaranteed Solutions In Minutes
