1992 Ford Probe Failing - Electrical & Lighting Systems

Question: The right turn signal does not light-up on the dash, or on the vehicle when turn signal is turned on. The left side works fine. I've changed all the bulbs on the outside of the car and condition still exists. Should I change the bulb in the dash, which will require removing the steering wheel, or might it be something else.

Technican: Check the flasher. Sometimes the 4 way flasher and turn signal flasher are interchangeable. Swap and see what happens. You neglect to mention if the signals work on the right side as they should. If they do not work and neither does the indicator light on the dash, start with the flasher unit. If only the indicator light does not work and the signals all work as they should, then the dash bulb is probably bad. If is really tough to replace the dash bulb, let it go and monitor the clicks of the flasher to indicate a right turn. Check all the grounds also. A bad ground can cause all sorts of strange problems. Tyler
Owner: Per your response below, only the right side is inop. THe dash indicator and the front and rear turn signals don't light up, although I do hear clicking. If checking the flasher is my first checkpoint, where is the 4-way flasher and the turn signal flasher located, and do they snap into and out of place ? Jun 12/03 7:25AM: "Check the flasher. Technican: They usually are under the dash. You may have to check a component locater chart in a Motor Manual. (usually at your local library) The flasher should just pop out. If the fglasher does not solve the problem, check for a bad ground or possibly 2 burned out bulbs, front and rear. Stranger things have happened. If this doesn't help, have the turn signal switch checked. Tyler
