1994 Ford Probe Malfunction - Ignition System

Question: car starts but shuts down if you hold key to start engage/ it will run let off it stopes

Owner: when i turn on the ignition i should get a engen light on the dash/but its not lihgting up none are! i have checked the relay its good no fusses blown/but it will run if i hold the key to stsrt/when i letup it stop runing/ what is the probem???????????

Owner: ok i tested the ignition switch it test ok all outher power items work

Technican: Hi; How did you test the ignition switch? You are telling me that all the power coming in and going out is fine. I would suggest that you check the hot wires coming in while in run position and the hot wires going out during start position. I do not have a shematic for it. But it sounds like you are loosing power after it starts. Thanks

Owner: i tested the on position at connection points 2/4/6/1/5 for continuity its there could this be a bad power control moduel? not prosesing singel after start?

Owner: i found anouthr problem the fule cutoff device is gone an wied direct two small white wires togather will this bypass to the pump /NOTE it was runing like this befor i tryed a truble code scan! after scan i lost dash lights!

Technican: Hi; It sounds like someone has been rigging it up. Best bet is to get a wiring schematic. Bypassing the fuel cutoff will not hurt the computer.Your problems can only be solve by a good tech or a good wiring diagram and someone that can read it. You can yourself troubleshoot it, as long as you have electrical knowledge. .
