1994 Ford Probe Won't Start - Fuel System

Question: my 94 probe, had a blown head gasket it. I bought this car off some man who replaced the head gasket but didnt put the rest of the car back together. It sat for about 2 years, i put it back together. I can get the car started but i have to give it alot of gas and just keep giving it gas until it starts. When i get it started i let it rev up and it doesnt idle it just dies out on me. I put a new fuel filter new spark plugs and wires on it and it still does it. I give it alot of gas get it started and it dies again. One time i got it started and it did idle then i killed it and had a hard time trying to get the car started again. I did do the timing belt on it myself is it a timing problem? It ran smooth the one time that i did get the car to idle. THX

Technican: sounds like a vacuum hose problem, when you took heads off did you get all the hoses hooked back up correctly? Newer cars dont like missing vacuum hoses and will not run correctly if every hose isnt routed and hooked up.

Owner: All the hoses were put back together. There is this one hose that is running from the throttle body that runs to the vavle cover that has a hole in it, but would that mater? its on top of the hose where it plugs in you can see the metal from where its pluged in, if you know what im talkin about. Im not all into mechanics that much, i dont know all the vacuum lines. If you can tell me whats ones i should check that would be great, and i read something else about a throttle body hose being cracked would do something i can check that to. thx

Owner: hi, i found a chart on my vacuum hoses. Ill check them all out tomorrow, a slight hole will cause the car from starting unless giving it constant gas. I dont see why its just not firing right up. Ill have to check some things tomorrow. THX
