1993 Ford Ranger Pick-up Failing - Ignition System

Question: I have a 93 Ford Ranger XLT. I have the 3.0L engine with a distributor. I am at a loss. I am getting no spark from the coil. Here's what I know: - I am getting good supply voltage to the coil, BUY when using a LED probe, I am not getting the expected blinking. - I have taken the ECM into a car parts store and it checked out good. - I am getting blinking on the PIP & SPOUT check points on the plug-in to the ECM, which according to a repair manual that I have says that the ECM and the Stator are both good.

Owner: , I apologize, I believe that the Ignition Module you mention is the same thing that I was referring to in my intial question as the ECM (It should have read ICM - Ignition Control Module). I initially replaced the ignition module with a new one and when that didn't help, I had them both tested, and they tested good. According to the tests that I performed as outlined in the repair manual that I have, the coil, stator, ICM and supply voltage is all good. But still no ignition signal to the coil. Randy

Technican: Randy, That changes the picture a bit. I suggest removing the spout connector, (a 2-pin plug in connector in the harness near the distributor) and check for spark, or signal on the coil negative. Make sure you are checking on the coil negative. If you are not sure, unplug the coil and see which wire is positive when the key is on. If you have spark with the spout disconnected, then the computer is not doing its part...check the fuses and make sure the check engine light is working properly. If the spout disconnect makes no difference, then make sure the distributor is properly grounded. Also, make sure you have power on both sides of the coil when the key is on and everything is connected.
