1987 Ford Ranger Malfunction - Electrical & Lighting Systems

Question: The gas guage is not working, I checked the fuse panel but do not see any problems with any fuses. What else should I check? Thanks

Technican: The "Sender" for the gauge is actually part of the electric fuel pump assembly in the gas tank, you have to drop down the tank to remove the assembly out of the tank and relpace the whole assembly or you may just be able to replace the "sender" assy. You will have to check with your local parts dealer for that answer. Also when you lower the tank out of the truck, check your connector wiring at the "Sending unit" and be careful not to break it or the fuel line when lowering it down...
