1987 Ford Ranger Won't Start - Ignition System

Question: have fire and gas but will not start have put a new coil, pick-up coil, dist mol, plugs, and rotor button, check timing marks all line up just dont any more to do

Technican: Can you provide more specifics about the truck? 4 or 6 cyl, did you check fire at the plugs? more information is needed in order to try and help you.

Owner: 2.3 4cly have fire a plugs been running fine parked it on firday and got in it monday and started it run for a few min and cut off have not started back have replace all the parts i listed and the fuel filter too

Technican: A couple of things come to mind on that engine...how did you check for fuel? 1. Check actual fuel pressure, which requires a gauge placed inline generally between the fuel rail and fuel filter to rule out a weak pump (I believe your engine is fuel injected). 2. Check to make sure your injectors are pulsing (opening and closing) You will need Noids to check this.. (if the noids do not pulse chances are your PCM (computer) is bad.
