1995 Ford Taurus Won't Start - Electrical & Lighting Systems
Question: Hi,
I have a 1995 Tarus XL 3.8. At 61, 000 it blew a head gasket and the engine seized.
I opted to just swap the engine from a runing 1994 GL 3.8. I was told by Ford this was a doable.
I exchanged the entire assembly. Engine, tranny, driveline struts etc....
The only electrical that I switched was the control module on the front left side.
I noticed that the 94' does not have an oil sending unit. (Located above the oil plug).
The engine will turn over but not start. Sounds like it is grounding out. Their is fuel pressure.
Help!
Steve

Technican: HI;
Sounds like you might of pinch a wiring harness. If you need a schematic on it. Please send me your email address and will be glad to help.. Owner: Les,
That is a possiblity. My specific question is: If the oil level sending unit is off the car will the computer think the engine has no oil anf thereby keep the car from starting. I'd be amazed if Ford did that to their cars. If not, then yes I would like a diagram. That woould be helpful. The engine that is now in my car was running smoothly in the donor car on Friday.
Thanks for any additional insights.
Steve Technican: Hi;
Unfortunately all that sensor ever did was turn a idiot light on. Would be nice if they made the car shutoff. Probably save us all a lot of headaches. Will email the diagrams. Need any more please do not hesitate to ask.. Technican: Hi;
Emailed you quite a few diagrams. Owner: None of the suggestions were helpful. Thanks for your time. Technican: Hi;
