2000 Ford Taurus Making Noise - Chassis, Suspension & Steering
Question: I am experiencing a noise/pulsating vibration in both my gas & brake pedal while in drive and while parked. It sounds like a knocking sound. The ABS indicator light has come on a few times, while cruising at 50-60MPH. The ABS light turns off when restarting car.
The brakes/rotors are only 6mos old. Although I have some mechanic experience, I am baffled as to what this can be. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Technican: If you are experiencing this in park and on the accellerator as well, it's not likely brake related at all.About the only things you will feel like that in park are lower end engine mechanical wear, torque converter, or loose flywheel to flex plate bolts. It's definately worth an inspection.best performed on a vehicle lift.Now..If you meant to say at TAKE-OFF and when coming to a stop, the noise is most likely a worn (CV)constant velocity joint on the half shaft, which can be verified by driving in a tight circle, in an open lot with the window down, in both directions, while listening for the noise to intensify.Let me know what you come up with here..Please click the accept if this is helpful. If you need to give me more info please reply.MightyMike.
