1991 Ford Tempo Making Noise - General

Question: I have a 91 tempo that I bought used and Ive had it for about 6 months and now when Im acclerating it makes a noise as if there was metal hitting metal blades of a fan at 20 and 30 miles per hour and doesnt stop till 5 after each. plus it does it when it hits 50 miles per hour and when i get up to 80 and let off the gass and it decellerates down past 60 it makes the same noise? what could be causing this?

Technican: Sounds like you could have a bad catalytic converter that rattles only under the proper load conditions. It could be any other vibration such as power steering lines, or a bad motor/transmission mount causing the engine or transmission to hit the frame.
