1985 Ford Thunderbird Won't Start - Engine
Question: Hi,
I have an 85 turbo coupe.Does this motor have an ACT sensor?(air charge temp)After 3 tries the motor will start but runs real sluggish until it warms up and then it is fine.Would the ACT sensor cause the problem or is it something else?

Technican: The 2.3L Turbo does have an air ACT sensor. This could be the problem, as could the other temp sensors and fuel pressure.
The ACT is only about $15 at autozone, partsamerica (Advance), etc.
To view a picture of the sensor copy and paste the folling link into your address bar.
partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=NIE&mfrpartnumber=TS81341&parttype=756&ptset=A
If you have trouble with the link simply visit partsamerica.com and look up the part for your car. Owner: Can you tell me where the temp sensor is located?
I've looked for it and can't find it.
Thank you,
Dave Nagle Technican: I looked at a wiring diagram and it should have a pink and black wire attached, if you have one. Apparently some didn't, sorry for any confusion- information is sketchy.
Have you had trouble codes pulled, autozone does it for free on many cars. Call ahead. Autozone.com also offer a free online repair guide for your car (in case you don't have a paper manual). Here's How To Get Guaranteed Solutions In Minutes
