Technican: Hi;
The module will work if out of the same engine. But most likely if the module went out the pick up inside the distributor should be replaced. Most of the time when I run across this problem I go ahead and replace both of them. They work in conjunction with one another. . Owner: Changed the pickup same results. Could it be a bad ECM? Any help would be appreciated.Thanks Technican: Hi;
Does not sound like a bad ecm. Might want to check fuel pressure. Might also want to check timing and make sure there is no vacuum leaks. Also right by the distributor there is what they call a spout. Disconnect it when checking or adjusting timing. Other suggestion is to clear the memory. Warm up the car and then shut it off. Disconnect the battery for five minutes. Reconnect the battery and start the car. Put in reverse and hold the brake. The idle should starting surging until the computer finds a happy midean. Make sure all accesoriesa are turned off when doing this. . Here's How To Get Guaranteed Solutions In Minutes
