1992 Ford Thunderbird Other - Drive Train & Driveline
Question: Hi
Suddenly, my odometers quit working, both the regular odometer and the trip odometer. The speedometer is working fine. What am I looking at for possible repairs? Is this something that I can do ? Price approximation ? The car has 58, 000 miles and is in great condition.
Thanks
Jim

Technican: Hi Jim,
Since the speedometer is working, the speedo assembly is receiving all the right signals. The only problem is internal that the odometers are not turning (stripped gear or something) This is not a particular difficult part to replace if you like tight, tedious work. Generally you would change the speedo/odo assembly. To repair the assembly, it would require a speedometer repair shop which is becoming difficult to find.

Maybe $200 from the dealer, or $50 from a scrapyard.
