i have a 1990 ford f 150. on the instrument panal when i put it on for the air to come out of the vents,it only comes air out of the defrost. no matter what possition i put it on weath its on the floor vent or floor vent/defrost. the air and heat is only coming out of the defrost near the windshield. . what do you think the problem is? ?

I have a 1993 Lincoln Town Car and want to add the factory 10 disc Cd changer and was wondering if the wiring for it was already in the trunk. I have the radio with the "Play/Prog" feature and was also wondering if once I hook it up, will it work. Do I need to get any additional wiring or anything additional to make it work? I already have the JBL system and the factory phone.

i have a 1989 bronco2 2.9 v6 4wd auto. i recently replaced rings, rod and main bearrings, head gaskets. when i tried to start the only way to get it to run was hold the throttle wide open ( it ran but FAR from good acted like it was flooded ). i can get it started how i just said and pull the fuel pump fuse out and it will run fine UNTIL the fuel runs out. i can keep it running while taking fuse in and out. when i put fuse back in it seems like it floods instantly. any help will be appreciated.

FORD ESCORT GHIA X,1.8LT (1997) PETROL...battery was faulty, this was replaced with a new on. connected the terminals and then the alarm keeps sounding. NO PROBLEMS PRIOR TO NEW BATTERY. Have checked wiring, door, bonnet and boot switch's, all ok. Have to disconnect battery to stop alarm sounding. Car still running (starting up) despite alarm sounding as soon as the battery is connected!! Anyone help...please

Hello, I have a 1989 T bird and the truck lock just stopped working (when I turn the key, it turns but with no release)...I need to get into the trunk and the trunk release button in the glove box is also broken. How do I get into the trunk? What if I take out the back seat but I am not sure if I can even do that without access to the trunk. Do you know how to remove the back seat from this model? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My 2002 Ford Taurus has been having light issues. When I am driving it the car locks keep locking and unlocking. Then when I have the car parked for 15 minutes or more, the car lights inside come on and stay on. I have unhooked the battery because if I leave it on no matter where I go it will not shut the lights off inside or on the exterior light where the mirrors are. These lights are connected underneath the mirrors. I have got into the car and have shut all doors. Sometimes it goes off when I slam the passenger side door , but in 15 minutes or more it comes back on. I feel like I have a haunted car. I have shut all doors and nothing works. I even tried to park the car in a level spot but it still does it .. please help

I Have A 12/87 5.0 Liter ASC McLaren Mustang That When I Drove It For Long Distances, It Would Sometimes Die At An Idle And Not Restart Until It Sat For 5 To 10 Minutes. Recently, It Did The Same Thing On A Much Shorter Trip (about 15 Miles) But It Just Died (lost All Power, Like No Spark At All) While I Was Driving At Freeway Speeds. It Had Never Done That Before. After This, Every Where I Drove It, When I Shut It Off, It Would Not Start, Just Crank, Until It Sat For Longer And Longer Periods. The Last Time Was To The Store, Less Than A Mile Away And It Hasn't Run Since. I Replaced The Fuel Pump (the Original Was Very Noisy) But That Was Not The Problem. I Put In A New Coil, Cap And Rotor, But The Same Problem Exists, No Spark. I Pulled The TFI-IV Plug Off And Checked The Voltage With A Light Tester While The Ignition Was Turned To The Start Position. #2 & #3 Connecters Had Juice, But #4 Did Not Light The Tester. Can You Help Me Diagnose The Problem? I'm Stumped.

1986 Crown Vic, Feels like a lack of power, a vibration around 55 and a hard shift into over drive. All tires have an accurate amount of air pressure. Engine sounds effected a bit too, a very slight whining noise heard between 40-60 mph. Any suggestions?

When I try to start my truck the lights come on, I hear my injectors getting fuel but no crank. I move my auto gear lever forward and start to slowly pull it down and it will crank. I replaced my NSS but it does not help, I recently had my transmission replaced also. What could I replace to fix the problem? Also is it hurting my truck to start it this way?

I have a 95 Ford Escort Lx 1.9l auto. Few months ago the check engine light came on intermittently, then recently it comes on after starting engine and it runs 30 seconds. The check engine light comes on every time now after 20-30 seconds and stays on till I shut it off. Used my Snap on scanner (solus) to run an engine-off test then the engine-run tests. Neither test came up with a code. Cannot pull a code with scanner or manually with the blinking light method. The engine seems to run fine, no missing or any problems noticed. Tried a tune up with wires, tried unplugging various input sensors with nothing being the problem. Tried swapping out ECU and the same (light came on after running 20-30 seconds). Just need the light to go out to get this trough emissions, then it can stay on as long as it wants since it doesnt seem to be affecting the car at all as far as I can tell. But I am kinda at wits end, if the computer wont tell me why its setting the CEL how the heck do I fix it? Also I did find it odd that I can unplug my MAF sensor and it doesnt affect the engine what so ever, or how the CEL comes on. But, I did get a ECT code on one engine-run test, but I thought that was because I performed the tests before it had fully warmed up. Any help would be very appreciated, thanks.

Leaks Were Found In The Front Diff. At the Speedometer Cable, And Both Front Pinions were Fixed. Rear Leak At Pinion Also Fixed. That Night Drove Home About 40 Miles, Drove Fine Smooth No Trouble. I Decided To Take It To And Empty Parking Lot To See If 4 Wheel Drive Was Functioning Properly? The Switch On Dash Stays Turned To AUTO When Regular Driving The Switch Also Has AUTO HIGH, AUTO LOW, I Switched To AUTO HIGH And Drove Around In 1st And 2nd Gear , When Making Turns Left Or Right It Seems Like It Binds Up And Slows Down Needing More Power Or Accelerator To Make It Move Forward. I Come To A Stop Then Turn The Switch Back To AUTO A Loud Disengagement Is Heard. Any Input from a Professional Knowledgeable with Ford Would Be Greatly Welcome, Thank you In Advance Russ

Thanks, in advance, for any help you can provide.
The issue I'm having with my Bronco is that, when I turn the ignition off, there seems to be a whining type noise coming from undearneath what sounds like the drivers side or possibly from back in the rear, bottom of the engine somewhere. I located a hose that runs along the frame the seems to vibrate along with the sound. The problem is that it's killing my battery. When I unhook the battery, the sound stops and when I hook it back up, the sound returns. Also, I unhooked the battery last night and left it unhooked all night. When I hooked the battery back up this morning, the sound returned. I've noticed that, if the door is slammed when I get out, it will sometimes stop making the noise.

I had a 1994 Ford Aerostar Van that was stalled for 5 years. I put hlaf tank gas, check the fuel pump and it's okay. I reset the shut off valve on the right passenger side, check that ther was gas on the line going to the engine, put a new battery, it cranks but won't start. I put some gas on the throttle to no avail. What am i missing here? Electrical? Please guide me where to start trouble shooting. Your favorable assistance is greatly appreciated!

My 1999 crown victoria runs and drives fine but recently anytime i hit a bump in the road my aftermarket radio shut off for a second. I checked all of the connections behind the deck and they are good and tight. The shutoff problem is getting proggressively worse and now if i hit to big of a bump my battery, or my temp, or my low fuel lights will blink on for a quick second and it feels like the car loses power for a second but doesn't shut off. Please help me. Upon further searching i also found out i have a two volt loss either in my under dash fuse box or between the battery and fuse box. There is continuity on either side of the fire wall. 13._ volts at battery and 11._ volts at fuse box when car is on. 12._ volts at battery and 10._ volts when the car is in accessary mode. I need to fix this i dont want a fire on my hands. The is an old cop car. Please help me.

my 1997 frod explorer tries to stall when I come to a stop. The RPM's drop down to about 500. I checked the PVC Valve and it is good, I cleaned the carban out of the throttlebody, cleaned the carban out of the intake manifold. The IAC was cleaned, it appears to be new, but as I just baught the truck I can not be sure how new the IAC is. What could be the problem

Low oil pressure light comes on at idle. Engine shuts off at stops. I can keep it running by keeping foot on brake and giving a little gas. Replaced oil pump. Still happening. Any suggestions? Car runs great when up to speed.

Turning the ignition switch does not send a signal to the solenoid. I can jump the solenoid to start it but the key will not do it. I have tried to check all the fuseable links but I'm not sure. Isn't there one on the firewall ?

2008 Ford Ranger xlt 4.0L engine. AC works fine, no heating. Found vacuum at the cut-off valve on the engine to heater core line and both lines to core are hot. It worked fine last winter and no flushing of system has been done. Blower works and air is directed to the proper vents as selected by control switch on dash panel. What should I look for next?

1988 ford ranger 2.3 4 cyl A week ago I started it up and used it to jump off another car. Later on I try to start it and it would not start, the next day it started right up, but after 3-4 minutes it just died, 3 or 4 days later it started and I let it run for about 30 minutes, restarted it several times fine, the next day it started, ran for 5 minutes and died. I have changed the internal pump, it started and ran for 5 minutes and died. I have changed the fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel relay. It will try to start if I spray starter fluid in it.
It seems like something is shutting down the fuel delivery and then sometimes it is opening back up.

My 1994 ranger 4x4 4.0L pushrod style engine will run fine sometimes and then after I drive it around for a while it acts like it is misfiring run really rough, then all of a sudden it will take off again like it isnt broke and then it will start the trouble again and eventually lose power and die. I have checked the ignition coil and it is good. I have replaced all the plugs and wires and the fuel pressure regulator. Just now it wouldnt start or it would start then run real rough for about 30 seconds and then die, but I removed the battery cable for 5 min to reset the computer and then it started up and drove just fine into the driveway. Any ideas? Maybe the ICM? or the computer? Or could it be the fuel pump slowly dying? I am at a loss. Thanks for any help.
